It is washed in the north by the Mediterranean Sea, in the east by the Red Sea. Egypt owns one of the largest artificially constructed canals, the Suez Canal, which connects the Mediterranean and Red Seas, thus opening up a short route from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean.
One of the two longest rivers in the world, the Nile, flows through Egypt from south to north.
Sharm El Sheikh
In the very south of the Sinai Peninsula, Sharm El Sheikh resort is one of the most prestigious resorts in the Red Sea. The popularity of the resort is evidenced by the presence of international 5 * hotel brands with high service standards. The hotels here are usually built in the Arabic style, which gives a unique flavor to the area, but it should be noted that most of the beaches are coral with the beautiful underwater world of the Red Sea, so the beaches of many hotels are equipped with pontoon or wooden bridges to enter the sea. It is recommended to wear special shoes when swimming. Sharm El Sheikh has 2 sandy beaches with a comfortable entrance to the sea in Naama Bay and Sharm El Maya.
The sea coast of Sharm El Sheikh is replete with corals and underwater life and is one of the best places in the world for diving and snorkeling, here you can dive and view the coral reefs very close to the coast. Not far from the resort is the underwater reserve of the Red Sea – Ras Mohammed, which is under the auspices of UNESCO. Adventure lovers can swim with dolphins.
On the Sinai Peninsula there is Mount Sinai or “Moses’ mountain”, where you can climb, as well as the monastery of St. Catherine located at its foot.
